OK..........I received a call from a guy in one of our satellite offices that needed help uploading a file into our system. He needed the template because he received a new computer and couldn't find his copy of it. I send it to him and 5 minutes later, he calls to to say that it's not working. He tells me what the error he is getting is and I explain to him that the file is a .csv file and must have an apostrophe in front of the date and customer number to work when uploading into our system. He then hesitates and I know what's coming. He says, "Um.......That's the one that's......um...........", so I tell him it's on the key with the quotes. He says ok and hangs up.
THEN I get an email from him with the attachment. He says it's still not working. I look at the attachment and it's saved as a .text file! So I open it up and there are comma's where the apostrophes should be!! I know that when you open up an excel file as text, the spaces between cells become comma's, but there were extra ones!
How do you get thru life not knowing the difference between comma's and apostrophes!
*sigh* My head hurts.
