Back in 1993 before he became Governor of Cali-forn-i-a, Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in a spoof on action movies called Last Action Hero. While the movie was slightly entertaining with quick references to other movies like Terminator, Basic Instinct and a subtle reference to Lethal Weapon, the real star of this movie is the soundtrack. It features original songs by Megadeth, Queensryche, AC/DC, Def Leppard, Alice in Chains, Anthrax, and Tesla, as well as a live version of Aerosmith's "Dream On". Most of the songs can't be found on any other album. For someone that is into hard rock like me, it's worth picking up.

I remember seeing this in the movies with my buddies and wondering what went wrong. The movie is okay up until the end with all of the Seventh Seal stuff. Too long. This is the movie that killed the old style action movies.
I actually love this film and have seen it at least 20 times. It's Arnold spoofing himself and it works for me. I think too many people expected it to be a straight action film and it's not. I think action films were running out of steam by 1992, a full year before this movie. I own the soundtrack as well.
For anyone who's interested in Arnold's movies, I recommend the 1976 documentary Pumping Iron. Arnold in all of his unedited glory. He even smokes the pot.
I've ALWAYS been an Arnold fan but never took him too seriously I guess. My faves are Kindergarten Cop and True Lies (Tom Arnold kicked ass in that movie too!).
Was kinda pissed that he went political - he doesn't entertain me much anymore!
For all his tough guy roles Arnie has a great sense of comic timing.
Actually this soundtrack is pretty awsome. Definitely worthy of buying!
Fred - I agree with Mark that goin in it was supposed to be all in fun.
MOTR - Sorry, I'm not THAT much into Arnold.
Cathy - True lies is another great movie.
Ranea - I have a few friends that agree with you about Queen of the damned, but I never saw it yet.
Fuzz - He does have a good sense of humor.
Jenn - Thanks for baking me up babe!
IThere are a few awesome soundtracks. I wonder how artists decide to put good tracks on a movie album instead of their own.
