I was watching a special about the 2005 Ozzfest tour last night. They were saying how it was the 10th anniversary. They had guests on like Rob Zombie, Slash, Zakk Wilde, and each of them were talking about how great it was to be on the same stage and bill as Ozzy and Black Sabbath. One of them (I think it was Zakk) even mentioned that he gives Ozzy a lot of credit with how well he performs and how he has kept his fan base for so long. A few of them even mentioned that Ozzfest was so big now, that Ozzy probably didn't even have to play every show and it would still draw a crowd, but he still comes out every night, and still sounds awesome.It got me thinking about the last time I saw Ozzy in concert. It was on the “No More Tears” tour. (WOW!! 15 years ago!! ). He was very energetic and appreciative of the crowd coming out to see him. I noticed that at almost 60 years old, he still puts on a great show, much like he did when I saw him in the 80’s and early 90’s. He said that he hopes to still be doing this in another 10 years. I can only hope that at 60, I can run around like he does.

The thing is I think he pulled a no show at a number of Ozzfest dates over the last two years due to health problems.
He announced before this year's tour that he would not be at all of the venues. It's become less about him and more about the bands on the tour these days, and I don't think Ozzy minds a bit.

I've never gone to an Ozzfest because usually there is not enough on the bill to draw me to go. I would love to see Ozzy but not solo Ozzy, I want to see Sabbath.
I missed Ozzfest this year as when I found out that there would be no Dallas show, San Antonio was sold out. Next year, hopefully it will hit Big D. It is more than a concert it is an event that never grows tiring to me.

::sigh:: just one more thing i didn't know about u mike...see, the whole 'Ozzy' thing really puts you SOOO in the good with me.. and you know, being in the god- oops good..see? god- Freudian slip.. with ME is almost...ALMOST as good as being in with Jen..see- Jen's a little older than me, so she has first picks and she definately has that edge over me *in fact i think the word is 'awesomeness' which is why sometimes you have to speak up, because she cant hear you over the sound of how awesome she is.., but i totally learned all my insanity from her.. *it's genetics- she denies it, but it is.. i think my room was definately in worse shape than hers growing up tho, our parents even had a standing bet... So anyway...you love Ozzy..aaaaand I love LOVE Ozzy so...see, just one more thing that makes you cooler in my book Mike. I miss you guys! see ya when we visit...oh, and kiss Thea for me.. she got INSANELY BIG. i need to start filling her head with nonsense AT ONCE!! lol j/k...or am i? :) lol
