Tell me it's not just us

So yesterday, while we were waiting for the football games to start, (BTW, since the Giants are out of it, I’m pulling for the Colts), I was watching the YES Network. For those of you not in the NY Metro area, the YES Network is the Yankees Entertainment & Sports Network. Anyway, they produce a show called “Yankeeography” which highlights the career of a particular Yankee. Here’s the conversation that followed:

Jenn – What the hell is this?
Me – It’s a Yankeeography on Paul O’Neill.
Jenn – It’s only January, why are watching baseball? Didn’t you see this one already?
Me – So? Don’t you think that if it was the one about Tino Martinez (my favorite Yankee) that I’d be watching it again too?
Jenn – *sigh* Yeah.
Me – It’s almost over.
Jenn – *gesturing to my daughter* Your Daddy’s crazy little girl. He keeps watching the same thing over and over again. It’s like SportsCenter.
Allie – *looks at my wife, nods and hands her a toy*

*cut to 10 minutes later*

Jenn – NOW what are we watching??
Me – It’s about the North American Auto Show in Detroit.
Jenn – *sigh*

Allie - *Looks back and forth at us and continues putting Elmo in and out of her shopping cart*

Does anyone else go thru stuff like this in their house? I mean, how many times can I watch the same episode of Boobah, Clifford, or Rachel Ray?? Why can't I watch a show again?

ALRIGHT, I take offense to this!

Cause I LOVE sports. Probably more than he does. I LIKE watching sports center (and you can't say that for most wives).

But I watch it ONCE, not on constant repeat!

AND as far as the Yankees. I like them too, but seriously, PICK ANOTHER TEAM TO CARE ABOUT.....CAUSE ALL YANKEES ALL YEAR gets to be a bit much!

This sounds like a dadsaidmomsaid post. It's our turn this week.

Hey, I've been much more into football recently than I have been in a long time!

DON'T START WITH ME WOMAN!! ;op

And yes.........I would like to admit that she does like sports, especially Hockey and Football.

Rock on - Paul rocks, but TINO RULES!!! Yes, I'd be watching Tino's Yankeeography over and over, I have it on Tivo lol. :)

But the repeated watching of favorite tv shows/movies is perfectly normal.

Tino Martinez in my humble opinion, is a much better role model than his replacement or lackthere of... ;-)

Jenn - Please talk to Jeanmarie and talk her into sports. PLEASE!!!

Mike - I've watched the Thurman Munson Yankeeography a few times. He was my favorite and still is. But I think it's perfectly normal to watch a show/movie as many times as you want as long as you still enjoy it. There are movies that I've seen so many times I can repeat every line, just like you can. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Wait wait wait - how did this topic get on Movies? I LOVE watching movies over and over, and can quote them with the best of them! NOT the same thing AT ALL!!!

p.s. I also love Tino, so THERE!

p.s. Talixmer, didn't your wife beat you in fantasy football? Sounds like she's into sports to me!

Rachel Ray's alright as long as the volume is off.

You had to bring up the Fantasy Football didn't you?

You're right, Movies are something else all together. With that said, there are also TV shows that I watch repeats of. I've seen episodes of Stargate, M*A*S*H, X-Files, etc so many times but still watch and enjoy.

Fuzz - I'm with you 100% on the Rachel Ray thing.

Talixmer - Don't take any crap about the football thing. People just get lucky sometimes.

I guess because what happened in the last episode of the same show, will happen on the repeat watch again?;)
PS I can also watch movies over and over

I propose a boycott of Rachel Ray. I just found out she's a Red Sox fan!

I'm not totally against Rachel, but I did kind of snicker when my wife started jotting down all of these costly ingredients for a recipe she saw from Rachel. Help me...
