Vegemite, huh?

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingWhen I was a kid, my elementary school had the outgoing 6th graders do a play, or some sort of a show as a way for the entire class to participate and be a group for one last time. When we got to do our play, it was based on the book/movie, "Around the World in 80 Days", but ours was called "Around the World in 60 Minutes".

My part was to be one of the guys in Australia. The teachers were looking for some music from there, and I offered up my Men at Work - Business as Usual album and we used "Down Under". We had to do this stupid dance to the beat of the music (if you were here, I'd show you, but you're not, so you can't see me demonstrate). Anyway, when I got my record back, it was scratched! Of course, I'm anal about my records, tapes, CD's, DVD's etc, so I was a little annoyed about it. Of course when I showed the teacher, she said, "That's how you gave it to me." BULL-SHIT LADY! What was I gonna do? There was no proof, so I took it back, but was pissed at her for the rest of the year.

At 11 years old, I already knew that lending out my things was a bad idea.

I am soooo with you. I won't loan out Cd's or DVD'd, cause once I loaned out my only copy of Rad on video and it never worked once I got it back.

You know...you could make a video of the dance.

I never lend out CDs, DVDs, or the like. My friends think I am crazy. I have a decent size collection on display and my friends always take a look to see what I've added.

One friend got pretty pissed one day because I wouldn't let him borrow a CD. Can't remember which one but it wouldn't have mattered. I offered to burn a copy but he refused angrily. I explained that the last time I lent a CD to him that he never returned it and I forced him to buy me a new one when we took a trip to the shops. I still think the original CD is lost.

I hate to say it but if my wife takes a CD from the case, and I notice, I'll question where it is. Every now and then, she'll borrow a disc for work. She always takes good care and brings it back but I still have a feeling of dread knowing one is missing.

I'm crazy, I know!

that is a tough lesson to learn. recently i had to learn the same lesson all over again and i wondered why the heck i just didn't remember it from when i was a kid instead of having to relearn it now?!

I learned that lesson to. I loan out cd's and dvd's to people I really and know they take care of their collections.
