Does she really know what she's saying?

OK, so my daughter is just over six months old and since Sunday morning has been saying, "Da-da. Da-da. Da-da" over and over all day. My wife got all excited because it's the first time she's saying an actual word, but I figured that she just learned a sound. Then last night and this morning, as soon as she saw me, she stopped playing and looked right at me and said, "Da-da". OK........now I'm starting to believe that she may understand what she's saying.

*smile*

I've got to say it's pretty cool being a Dad.

Have you ever heard of reverse speech? Record your child and play it backwards...

www.reversespeech.com

Reverse Speech research has discovered that children speak backwards before they do forwards. From as early as 4 months of age they are pronouncing simple words in reverse and by the time they reach 13-14 months of age, complex sentences are forming in reverse.

Becky - Thanks for blowing that whole experience for me.

Jennster - I love having a daughter until she's about 14..........then I'm going to have a heart attack. We will have more kids, just not today. Maybe tomorrow.

Ugh, Mike, don't remind me...my own daughter is 12 now, so I'm almost ready to lock her in her room until she's at least 27.

I have a two year old daughter and a three month old son. I love them both, but it can be hectic at times.
