So as I stated in my last post, my wife and I were to find out what the sex of our second child would be. I'm sure as you figured out by now, it's a boy! We're both very excited to have a girl and a boy. Among other debates, now comes the task of naming the kid. On our trip to South Carolina a couple of months ago, my wife brought the "50,001 baby names" book along for the ride and we narrowed it down to about 25 girl names and 12 or so boys'. Well, since then we took the boys names and narrowed them down to two: Jason (or Jayson, we haven't decided yet), or Luke.My wife and almost everyone we talk to prefers Luke..............but there is a problem with that name. As most of you know, I am obsessed with movie quotes and can't resist reciting them. So the obvious problem is me saying this all the time:
"Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your father"
"He told me enough..............he told me you killed him"
"No.................I am your father!"
Jenn is deathly afraid that I will torture the kid with it an others from the movies forever. So as of now, Jason is the name in the lead, but I know Luke is the favorite. At least we have another few months to decide

why do you torture me so?!?!!? WHYYYYYYY???
star wars is OLD. no one will associate luke with it- they'll associate it with something else- like luke perry from 90210.. or that stupid luke and laura general hospital soap couple. LOL
go for jason- at least he was only a serial killer in scary movies.
You are a car fan and the first Luke you think of is the wooden acted character from Star Wars? I would associate it with Luke Duke of course and that would be a plus.
Yea! WHY do you have to be such a dork!?!?!? I LIKE LUKE and you gotta ruin it!
Ster - Not everyone obsesses over soap opera like you!! :op
Mark - Good point. The only problem is that if I associated that with the Dukes, I'd HAVE to go and buy him an orange '69 Charger and weld the doors shut. (of course I'd drive it also.........Hmmmmmm)
Babe - You knew what you were getting into!!
Go with Luke, It would be a special thing between you and him. Awesome!

How about Luca?????
I like Luke----Grandma
David - Very true. Hopefully he will like the Star Wars Saga and quote it with me.
Anonymous - No sorry. Reminds me of Suzanne Vega. "My name is Luca. I live on the second floor. I live up stairs from you........."
Grandma - Yes, I know. I'm in the minority in this family when it comes to the name.
Star Wars old? Bite thy tongue, Jenn! Star Wars is eternal...
You know if it's Jason, there'll be ki ki ki...ma ma ma...to torture him with!
I say Luke! Not because I'm a Star Wars geek too. But because when you pick him up from day care, you can say, "Join me. And together we can rule the galaxy as Father and Son." But that may just be me :)
Quotes from Star Wars would be much more preferable than quotes from Friday the 13th.
Oh yes, I just saw "The Science of Star Wars" on TV and now I'm 100% sure that Luke is the way to go.

There is no question you have to go to Luke. When ever the boy asks why? you can merely say Luke, I am your father.
I think its brillant.
I've been out of the loop for a bit but Congrats to you and your wife. Luke is a good name. My wife actually suggested Leia for a girls name...I just kept quiet...then she made the connection and quickly disposed of the name.
